Back home and it’s still blowing. It’s been a particularly savage spring with strong to gale force winds and dust storms. I’ve had the power lines blow down and the roof blow off my shed, so I think a really calm image and one of my favorites might be a good post.
‘View From Coulthards’
Here the afternoon sunĀ is softening the spectacular hills and mountains of the far north of the Flinders Ranges.
It was taken near Coulthards Lookout on Arkaroola’s famous ridgetop track and I’m tried to get the camera as close as possible to the sun without getting a lens full of flare.
This took quite a bit of doing and to the casual observer probably looked hilarious as I tried to operate the camera while holding up all sorts of things – hat, cap, bits out of the camera bag, anything handy – at weird angles to avoid the dreaded sunspots.
This is one of my gallery shots – one that’s already been printed. In this case A1 size (84 cm wide) on German Etching fine art paper.
Sorry to hear about the power lines and the roof of your shed blowing off.
Great shot.
Spectacular shot and worth looking an idiot…..amazing shot…..just beautiful!!
