It was the tree trunk that was so outstanding in the last light of day.

Walking a creek bed looking for something else, it was hard to miss this simple but beautiful scene.

But the light was falling fast and it took a couple of evenings before  the weather was right again.

A circular polarising filter was used when taking this picture on Edeowie Station on the western side of the Flinders Ranges.

Mt Aleck,  part of the Elder Range in the background.

    I wonder what the picture would look like with the rest of the tree in it? Do you have that shot for compare and contrast? When I take shots like this I often cant see the wood for the trees.
